Born in Houston and raised in San Antonio, Adam had his first experience with financial services as a child, when he participated in a test group for an innovative children’s product, ParentBanc, a checkbook designed for children to use with their parents’ guidance. The experience of learning and tracking savings helped him understand the value of financial responsibility and left an indelible impression.
At Baylor University, Adam’s desire to share valuable money lessons and serve families steered him to the business school. Majoring in financial services, he graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.
Adam moved to Austin with his wife Jessica to join FMP in 1997. He earned the credentials to be a Certified Financial Planner™ in June 2000. In his early career at FMP, Adam’s role had him focusing on financial plan writing and development for FMP’s clients. In 2001, his role expanded to Adviser. This change brought together financial planning with investment strategy. Adam was asked to lead the Adviser and Planning teams at FMP in 2020 as a Managing Partner, and in 2025, he was asked to serve as President. During his time, Adam has helped FMP grow into one of the top RIA firms in the country.
Through the years and outside of FMP, Adam has served on several boards and volunteer leadership positions for various non-profit organizations. In addition to their local church, Adam and Jessica are passionate about helping children and families. He is proud of almost 10 years serving on the Board for All God’s Children International, a family and childcare ministry seeking to disrupt trauma and keep families together.
The Todds have 3 wonderful children. Two of them are married, so they actually have 5 amazing kids who bring joy and color to their life. When the kids were younger and for over 16 years, Adam loved coaching their baseball and basketball teams. The family enjoys being together and outside whenever possible, especially on/in/around the water.
