Client Service Specialist
Alia was born in Dallas and came to Austin for college at the University of Texas. She loved Austin so much, she decided to stay after graduating. Prior to being in finance, she was a social worker and counselor for much of her young, adult career. She spent many years working with trauma victims, specifically in the criminal justice system. Due to its incredible emotional toll, she decided to pivot and move into an entirely different career space.
Alia learned how transferable her skill sets as a social worker and counselor were in advocating for the customer experience in other capacities, in particular finance. Prior to working at FMP, she was working for life insurance brokers, primarily building relationships with both clients and financial professionals alike.
Alia is married and has two stepchildren, Asher & Presley. They also have two pets, a golden doodle named Ellie and an orange tabby cat named Miles, both of whom are rightfully spoiled by the family. Alia is a certified yoga instructor and owns a small photography business on the side, which helps to fuel her creative nature. Other than yoga and photography, she also loves reading, traveling and spending quality time with friends and family.
